Fix my CAV Rotary
injector pump

Its raining in hervey bay and today is the day to tackle one of my dreaded tasks, try find the leak on the injector pump, then once found work out how to remove it and fix it. Rang a couple of Boat Mechanics and before they will even took at it they are quoting $2500 for a replacement or exchange pump, lazy @$$#.

So time to learn a new skill, injector pump maintenance or rebuilding

The injector pump is located just down from from the CAV fuel filter and to the left and is alloy in color. Yep boats always have more stuff in the way, mines the cooling system and oil cooler, filters large battery ready to weld my tools together if Im not careful.

Found the leak but what is it and exactly where is it coming from

I think I have a leaking line but it could be a seal in the rear of the injector pump. The following video helped LOTS.

excellent video on rebuilding CAV pump

Trying to find rebuild kit and work out if I just try new brass washers on injector lines first. Its at best a 3 day job.
